Finding Fashion Focus with Tim Gunn
I love to be organized but I hate the process because I just don’t know where to begin!
GOODBYE 2011…HELLO 2012!
Are you ready to put 2011 behind you and party forward? If so, then do it with color, fanfare, and style!
Did you know that color is a great way to change your mood? Just as music creates an emotional response so does color. With the current, unsettled economic situation, we are all looking for a reason to be cheerful. No wonder major retailers this holiday season are featuring bright, bold colors, suggesting strength, confidence, and optimism.
Whether it’s bright dresses, colorful jeans, or accessories, you will see color everywhere this holiday and who isn’t more cheerful when wearing bright colors? Favorite holiday colors include red, turquoise, emerald green, sapphire blue, hot pink, and orange.
And, being the “bright spot” at a party doesn’t mean you have to look like a Christmas tree. With a few fun colorful accessories, you will brighten your mood and the mood of others around you. Of course, a simple way to add color is with a pair of colorful tights or leggings. Put on your LBD or black skirt, add tights, a matching scarf… and voila!
Other featured accessories include bright shoes, purses, scarves, hats, belts, etc.
This holiday season, it is time to step away from the television, put down your bank statements, and take time to enjoy the holidays…..
….AND MAY ALL YOUR CHRISTMAS TIGHTS BE BRIGHT!!!
So much luxury from such a little goat!
We can thank the Capra Hircus Laniger goat for giving us the incredibly soft, supple, sought-after fiber, cashmere. For over 10,000 years, this remarkable goat has been present in Central Asia, and is still thriving in the remote regions of the inhospitable uplands of Inner and Outer Mongolia, Afghanistan, and Iran. The extreme weather conditions and the scarcity of water and vegetation on this arid countryside have forced these particular goats to adapt and survive on very little. It’s OK. They like it.
The extreme changes in temperature between day and night as well as the brutal harsh winters (sometimes 45 degrees below zero!) require the goats to grow a unique coat, providing warmth and protection. The long course outer hairs are the guard hairs. The underfleece, the fine soft silky hairs, six times finer than human hair, is called the duvet, pashm, or cashmere. The colder the climate, the finer and warmer the undercoat.
In early spring when the goats moult, the Himalayan farmers comb the fine woolen undercoat from the neck and chest of goat, painstakingly separating the guard hairs from the sumptuous cashmere fibers. This de-hairing process is usually done mechanically but in some regions this process is still done by hand.

We had two fun models help us put together some great looks. We love the combinations from playful to serious and hope that you will be inspired to come up with your own solutions.

The perfect combination of leggings and a skirt in one piece!
One of my pet peeves is trying to align my tights or leggings with my underwear and my skirt. That’s three waistbands to negotiate every time I move! I am always “adjusting” to avoid those unsightly lines that show my not-so-perfect figure. You know what I mean!
To solve that problem, we have designed a very figure-flattering solid opaque legging and skirt combined. It is the perfect fashion piece as it combines two items into one so once you put it on, no more tugging and pulling! It is great to layer under your favorite sweater, jacket, or shirt. At the recent Accessories Show in Las Vegas, this item was a favorite of the buyers because it fits well, looks great, and the quality is outstanding. Hopefully, it will be a favorite of yours this fall and winter.
What is your fashion pet peeve?
How would you wear our skirted legging?
Would you like to see it in other colors?
Well, here it is again—school.
Summer is behind you and it’s back to class. Your tan has faded, there’s a chill in the air, and the leaves are turning to shades of orange and red.
Rise and Shine! You may not look forward to dragging yourself out of bed, but you can look forward to wearing some of the fun new fall fashions. And, you can cleverly reinforce your current wardrobe with new seasonal items to transition from summer into fall. No need to give up the mini-skirt or shorts —just add some great leggings or tights and let your legwear transition your wardrobe.
You don’t have to sacrifice comfort, warmth and fashion for school.

…who thought up this latest trend!?!
I am petrified of snakes and the mere sight of one in a magazine or heaven forbid, real life, sends chills up and down my spine. However, snakeskin–particularly python–is the latest animal kingdom pattern exciting the fashion industry this season and has slithered onto the pages of every fashion magazine and every product imaginable.
Snakeskin texture and colors certainly add dramatic interest ranging from playful to sophisticated.
(Black python belt by Fashion Addict, Natural snake print handbag by Prada, Python black printer tights by Foot Traffic, Python print silk dress by Lanvin, Snakeskin bangle bracelets by UO, and Gray python vamp pumps by Christian Louboutin.)
They certainly make a “striking” fashion statement!
We have been selling snakeskin prints for years and yes, we jumped on the python design wagon this season and designed a new dramatic tight and footless tight that will crawl right up your legs.
Let us know what you think about the python fashion frenzy this season.
Has it slithered into your wardrobe this year? Will you be wearing our new python tights and footless tights?
