YIKES! Friday the 13th is coming up!

You’re just in time to get our horseshoe socks for good luck!

Friday the 13th is supposed to be a day of bad luck. This year, you need to pay particular attention since there are three Friday the 13th in 2012. Good news, if you are reading this you already survived Friday the 13th in January but why take a chance?

There are two more in 2012; April 13 and July 13.

If you are wearing lucky horseshoe socks, you can hopefully (and probably) defy the odds.

Why is a horseshoe considered good luck?

Well, many believe that hanging a horseshoe upside down over a doorway in one’s home will collect all of the good luck for the family inside the house. If the horse shoe is hung upside down, all of the good luck will fall out. Others believe that no matter which way the horse shoe is hung, good luck will prevail; ends up, the horseshoe will catch and hold all of the good luck, and ends down the good luck will spill over the door and prevent evil from entering.

Another interesting aspect of the horseshoe that added to the good luck was the fact that it was commonly held in place by seven iron nails (Look at our sock–7 nail holes–we added one black hole on purpose). Since ancient times, the number seven has been considered very important for the following reasons:

  • life was divided into seven ages
  • a rainbow has seven colors
  • astrology once held that seven planets made up the universe
  • there are seven deadly sins
  • a seventh child was thought to have special powers
  • every seven days the moon changes from one phase to another
  • the body goes through a radical change every seven years
  • there are 7 days in a week
  • there are 7 days left for you to buy our horse shoe sock!

So, to make extra certain that you will have good luck Friday, April 13: wear our horseshoe socks and you will have good luck all day!
